Which countries are safe to travel to in West Africa?

Hi all, I am very interested in other cultures and am intrigued by Africa. as a white Australian tourist, i'd like to know a bit more about travelling in west africa. anyone have any thoughts?

2. South Africa is soo nice!! But you would have to go with a friend. You can basically go anywhere I think as long as you are with another person. Not rly sure about the western part of africa.
3. In any country you go to Africa, you are strongly recommended to get vaccine shots 2 weeks before your actual trip. All countries are safe to visit if you take vaccine shots before you go.
4. The best places you can go to are : Senegal and Mali. May be you should also consider Burkina Faso. Avoid all the rest, there's a lot of security problems !! Good Luck !

6. Well, south Africa, definitely isn't in west africa... Anyhow, I would say, there are 5 nice countries to visit in west africa. - Senegal, Mali, Burkina for the Sahel countries which have great history (for your info, Mali is the name of an ancient Great African Empire, check it out on wikipedia) - And for coastal countries: Ghana and eventually Benin which also have a rich history, and nice beaches. ;)
7. Marocco is north but really worth the trip! It is also safer than some other countries in Africa.
