what are some specific examples of black codes in the novel the adventures of huck finn. black codes were passed after the american civil war and the reconstruction era to supress the african americans and preserve slavery for as long as possible. they south was always against emancipation and instilled this codes to highlgiht the distinction of aferican americans. no actually i am not talking about the jim crow laws. im talking about black codes thats what they were called.

  1. I believe you are talking about the "Jim Crow Laws" which was a code that suppressed rights of African Americans. For example, one of the codes was along the lines of: If your father could not vote, then you cannot vote. And so the suppression was passed down for a long time until the emancipation. Unfortunately, I don't have the book anymore, but I hope that clears things up a little.
