Can you steal a monkey from african lion safari? I went to african lion safari with my friends last summer and we took our car inside with. When we got to the part with the monkeys, they were all on top of our car. I was just wondering, what if someone rolls down their car window and pulls one monkey inside. is that possible.
African Lion Safari in Ontario- Take my Car? I am going to the african lion safari in Ontario during the summer. I have a land rover and I think it would be cool to drive through with. But at the same time, I don't want to have my car busted up by the animals? Is this a concern. Any personal experiences?
pay for tour SUPERVISOR at African Lion Safari? Hi, I was just wondering if anyone knows roughly how much a tour SUPERVISOR makes at African Lion Safari. I've applied and been called for an interview and want a ball park for what I can ask for. Thanks:)
african lion safari or toronto zoo? I am 6 months pregnant and want to take my daughter either to the toronto zoo or african lion safari this weekend. (it will probably be Holiday Monday judging the weather forcast). I can't do much walking and was wondering, is it better to take my 20 month daughter to the zoo or African Lion Safari. Which will she see more animals from the bus at African Lion Safari or the zoo? Also any one know if either will be packed on a holiday Monday?
is it even worth it to go to african lion safari? we are already going to the toronto zoo because even though i live in buffalo i won't give that crappy zoo a penny. i heard the animals look sad and lazy laying around and its $30 which is a decent amount of money for my boyfriend and i. is it worth it?

African Lion Safari - RAIN? Has anyone ever been to the African Lion Safari while it was raining? Please let me know what it was like??
Who has been to African Lion Safari outside Toronto? I'm going Saturday. I went about 13 years ago when my son was about 6. Has it changed much? We will do the bus this time because the girl I'm going with has a new car, as do I, and does not want it scratched. Have you gone on the bus? When we went, some Chinese lady in a van was stupid and feeding the bears some french fries. One bear came over, got up and pulled her driver's side window out. Boy was there a lot of chattering going on in that car. She threw the rest of the fries and took off. The bear just ambled off after the fries. We stopped at the next station and told them what we saw and asked if they were responsible at all, and she said no, not at all. I said, "good". What a change from the US where no matter what the signs say, people will get a lawyer and sue a place like that for their own stupidity and ignorance.
Is there any bus service from Hamilton to the African Lion Safari? I would like to go from Hamilton to the African Lion Safari, but we do not have car, or driver license. I already contacted the Safari, and they said, there is no bus service, which goes there, but someone told me, they went there last year by a bus, but they could not tell, which. So maybe someone can help me to find out, how I can get there. (If there is no bus, then I will go by a cab, but is it cheaper from the end of Hamilton or from Cambridge?) Thanks for Your help. (Sorry for my English.)
is the african lion safari a zoo? i guess i classify a zoo where the animals are in cages.. me and my friend were arguing over whether or not it was a zoo.. so i want your opinion .. thanks
reaching African lion safari? HI all My husband and I do not drive, we have a 3 year old who likes to see the African safeari. Can anyone tell me that how we can reach there by bus or train? Please help us.

At African Lion Safari? I've never been there before (It's in Cambridge, Canada). I know in old promotions there were photos of dolphins and other sea animals, but I've heard that there aren't anymore? Is this true? Thanks!
Going to african lion safari, ontario? Me, my wife and 3 yr old son are planning to go to this safary on 5th oct. Hoping my son will have fun. Couple of questions: 1. I would be renting a car. We will be driving from Niagara falls on previous day. Which is best place to stay for night before we go to safari next day. Appreciate your time to answer these.

Afrian Lion Safari taking your own car (ontario canada)? Hi, i m thinking about going to african lion safari in ontario canada. do you think it will be ok to bring my lamborghini? do you think the monkeys will attack my car? or should i take my 2008 Ferrari? or my smart car. Thanks. I prefer people who has already been there to answer.
Okay, I know this is a really stupid question but would pit bulls be able to survive in the safari? I was watching animal planet with my dad the other day and I started thinking about what would happen if we dropped off all the pit bulls (especiall the crazy one) right in the middle of the african safari. Besides the Lions what could destroy them...Hmm..could a lion even destroy a crazy pit bull??? I would love to hear some opinions. Thank you. Lets just say that we dump all the crazy one out there and they don't kill eachother. Also, can all the people who think I'm an animal abuser chill out! This is just a hypothetical question. I don't mind pit bulls at all. IT'S JUST A QUESTION!!!
What do you do every summer with the kids? We usually go to Europe (back to mine and my husband's roots), but this year we aren't. We have a backyard camp out a few times a summer and we go to Wonderland, African Lion Safari, Marineland, Ontario Plance... ect several times. We also go to our cottage for about 2-3 weeks at a time. We have a pool and a beach there and we usually go with friends who have kids the same/similar age to our kids.
How do animals at open safaris not attack the cars that go by? I just don't understand. A few years ago my husband and I went to a local safari calling African Lion Safari where they have lions, monkeys and such. When we went to the lion secition, they were just sitting there. How is this possible? Yeah when we went, we skipped the monkey section because they warned us that the monkeys will go on your car and can scratch it up.
Is ok to want to have a sexual relationship with a rhino? Is ok to want to have a sexual relationship with a rhino? Recently I was at a African Lion Safari and saw a big female rhino. She the took a pee infront of me and for some strange reason I got turned on by it. Is it normal to want to do a rhino? I know people do it with horses so is this any different??? Thanks for the help... - Mark
Which one of these events would suck the most? 1. Your jeep breaks down while on an African Lion Watching Safari. 2. Your dream home that you built on the side of a mountain turns out to actually be a volcano. 3. You find out that your college professor for the last class you needed for your super fancy doctorate degree had fake credentials. 4. You find a bag of money on the street only to learn that it's all counterfeit. 5. You buy an unrefundable travel package online to Sidney Ohio, when what you really wanted was one for Sydney, Australia.
Is this mean to say to my Mom? Every time my Mom puts on her khaki shorts and her khaki shirt my sister and I start to sing, "African lion safari!" in this sing song way and we tell her she looks like she is going on a safari. Is this mean, since going on a safari includes the danger of getting raped by an ape?
Where to go for my 15th Birthday? My birthday's in the summer and i was hoping to do something outdoors and fun such as going African Lion Safari or something cool like rock climbing. I live in Woodbridge Ontario and was hoping to drive an hour and 30 min at most but if you have any ideas that don't fit the guidlines suggest anyway

Canadians : can you give me some fun places to visit with family/friends during the summer time in Ontario? I'm trying to gather a list of tourist attractions/fun places that my family/friends and I can visit (within Ontario) to enjoy this beautiful country (or, at least this one province, lol). We always go to other countries and enjoy what they have to offer, but I'm sure we can have a great vacation right at home =) I already have on my list : - Toronto Zoo - Wonderland - Center Island - African Lion Safari Please help me further populate my list :-) I want to enjoy my country! Thanks everyone for your help!!! xoxo
Aren't you jealous of the PEOPLE at the ZOO? That get to care for the BABY TIGERS....? Omg, I want to do that so bad. I wish I would have planned out that career in high school, now I'm taking something totally different in college =P Recently I went to African Lion Safari with my little sister, and it was amazing. We rented a car, because I didn't baboons to wreck my windshields. There is this tour that you take in your car, ohh its amazing, the animals come right to your car =D Anyways, when we were done with that, we went to the petting area. They had some baby tigger and so many cute animals.
Are you doing anything special this weekend? Do you have anything planned for this weekend? Tonight my family is taking my husband and babies and I out for dinner for my birthday. Tommorow my husband and I are taking the babies to African Lion Safari, it's pretty neat because we will get to see the animals up close and I think the kids will love it. On Sunday my SIL is watching our little ones and my husband and I are going to the drive in - first time in 2 years, lol. I really don't get out enough..well, if I have to turn 34 then I might as well have fun doing it! What have you got planned? Actually it's in Ontario, Canada. It's pretty awesome, unlike a zoo where are the animals are caged in, you drive through and the animals are just roaming around. I haven't been since I was a kid but I vividly remember the monkeys jumping all over my dads car (and him cursing them, lol) It was a lot of fun and I think the kids will love it.
In Zoo World (on Facebook) where can I get a giraffe and zebra? In Zoo World, I'm on the "Create your own African safari. Get 8 of each animal: Wildebeest, Spotted Hyena, Zebra, Lion, African Elephant, and Giraffe" achievement. I don't have giraffes or zebras in my shop. Where can I get them? Will I eventually have the option to buy them if I keep buy new species? Or do I have to have my zoomates send them to me? Thanks!
why do people think that the animals are running around in south africa? do people really think that the lions run around outside in south africa...at the airport in america i saw a guy sitting with his african safari outfit he seriously looked like he was on his why to the mid evil times, and when we asked him about it he said he was on his way to south africa...hello people, we have houses and cars and computers and everything here..some info for u: we dont all have aids here, we dont live in huts, we dont have tigers for pets...dont get confused with africa and south africa
Who would you rather come face to face with if you had to choose,...? A. Flying saucer with aliens that just arrived, you go to meet them and to greet them. B. Any kind of ghost, creature or demons, vampires ,...you go to them to talk about the day and, the 3am hour. C. A lion on an African Safari or something, you go up to camera in hand to take close shots and pet him. D. A man with a gun you approach to introduce yourself and see what he is up to. E. A basement filled with black widow spiders at night you have no light but, a lighter, your bare feet but, because, of the large tornado coming you have no choice, you make a place with your radio and cell phone.
How is this for funny ? Wrrrr and Heavy D decide to go on an African safari together ! But first they went shoping for some essentials ! Heavy D's first choice is a pair of running shoes priced at R1200 ! Baffled Poepies asked if that is not a bit over the top ? ''No says Heavy D ''it's just a precaution if we stumble upon a lion !'' Poepies :'' But you can not outrun a lion !'' Heavy D : ''I know but I'll out run Wrrrrr ! ''
How come Wild Dogs are not kept as pets? They don't look that big? I don't know if you're familiar with Wild Dogs, but they are those dogs that hang around hyena's a lot if you ever watch National Geographic. They have kind of a dark black and brown coat. Anyway, how come we didn't domesticate those dogs if we were able to domesticate other dogs. They don't look like the biggest dog. It looks like those dogs police own and other dogs are a lot bigger than them. Wild dogs, in the wild, are usually running away from lions, hyenas, and EVEN the weakest big cat, the cheetah. They have to work in packs in order to kill their prey and they usually can only kill baby animals. So it doesn't seem like Wild Dogs are that dangerous. Does anyone know if they have ever been attempted be domesticated or not? How would a Wild Dog fair with police man helping them protect the world against Criminals. If you're still unaware of what I'm talking about, here's a pic of the African Wild Dog, http://images.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://www.african-safari-pictures.com/im The reason I ask is because that is the kind of dog I want. I want one of my very own. My only little cuddly African Wild Dog. I really want a Hyena, but people say they aren't dogs. They still look like ones and if I can't have a Hyena, I want a Wild Dog.
in your mind what is cute? in mine its a term i would use to show something thats like a baby adorable but has no power would you describe a lion as cute http://www.african-safari-pictures.com/image-files/lion-cub-pictures.jpg http://www.abolitionist.com/reprogramming/lion.jpg would you describe a fox as cute http://pelotes.jea.com/AnimalFact/Mammal/Fox01.jpg http://gallery.photo.net/photo/9356994-md.jpg i would not i did not know were to put it lol sorry i should of put it in the word section i would not call a dog cute as i said in my opinion cute is a term of powerless and most dogs are way stronger then humans
Strangest thing in my daughter's journal...? It said "I had a weird dream last night.. I dreamt that I was in the African Safari. I saw monkeys, and lions, and antelope! My family and I were watching a a herd of rhinos. Then out of the corner of my eye, I saw something so huge, and it made the rhinos run away. I began getting really scared, then i just realized that it was Edna." Isn't that the strangest thing? Should I be worried for her? Btw, its a dream journal that my daughter writes in for her counselor, though she does have a habit of sharing the dreams with me on occasion.
what is your plan for tomorrow? I'm GOING TO AFRICAN LION SAFARIIIIIII!!!!!!!!! i'm so exited... i haven't been there before this will be my first time... i'm so scared though :P for you guys who dont know why i'm going to safari exept school... tomorrow is Victoria Day in Canada and there is no school or work :D
help me talk sense to my friend....? my friend is super rich and recently came back from an african safari. the trouble is she has brought a lion cub back. god knows how. she is keeping it as a pet. its starting to get a bit big now as expected, but last week it killed her dog and ate a bit of it. she just laughed and said dogs cost nothing where as the cub cost thousands. its getting crazy and she might get hurt herself. what should i say/do?
What if natural selection worked the opposite way? Picture instead of the animal changing or "adapting" it was the survival of the fittest in the fittest environment. In other words, the animal that was better "equipped" survived the harsh climates and the scarce food source, and the animal that was "ill-equipped" just died off it didnt change it and it doesnt adapt. The animal that survived rather didnt adapt or change also, it was just fit (like a puzzle). It works in the animal kingdom as a natural order of things too for example in the african safari the antelope will outnumber the lions 5 to 1 but when supply is increased the lions will increase because of the ease and availability of food source. But when the lions out number the antelope say 5 to 1 the lions begin to die off and mate less often leaving the antelope to populate the plains again and so the cycle continues. That is how the fittest survive in the environment, when the food source is gone or the climate changes drastically the population of a particular species dies off. The one that survives is NOT the one that adapted but the one animal better "equipped", in the first place, to survive. Because if this was true it would totally refute the Darwinian theory. Despite all the bone's we have of similar species/animals is would make perfect sense if there just animals like that to begin with. Now you may think that this ties into creationism, well in a way it does but im not trying to convince anyone im simply asking a provoking question. I got into a argument today and up until today i have always believed in Darwinian natural selection. Well this person sort of opened my eyes. A couple more questions: Who controls natural selection? If it was the animal, how come i cant grow wings? How come i cant simulate an environment and grow wings? If it was mother nature, well what is mother nature? And if it was God.....well....is it? Can that be the explanation for complex organisms? Or machine like organisms? Seems to me now that Intelligent Design is the likely team to win the cup in my field. I think the most important fact is that we as humans just dont know.....we just dont. Well supply and demand is apart of nature. I was trying to relate natures job with a realistic concept. Overall that was a bad example please ignore that. The first answer: I didnt like how you failed to answer the overall question. Your opinions on the others were "ok" and plausible in some ways but overall its not the answer im looking for The second answer: Great job on catching the supply and demand strategy but your answer explains selective breeding ....not natural selection. In selective breeding YOU choose....not nature so therefore your example is invalid. Thanks for your opinions Well to continue to an argument, the "perceived" fitness as you call it comes from the term alot from the evolution theory stating that its survival of the fittest. Its not some arbitrary definition, its been "proven" through the darwinian theroy. I like how you would agree on the simulated environment. Mis-information? Well if you mean that its a subject that we have no information for....that in its self is false. Think of complex machines. Like bacteria for example, the bacterial flagellum (im sure you know) is machine mechanism. A mechanism with about 7 parts. Un-deniable logic is that you cannot have working machine with parts missing or broken. Right? So how could natural selection/evolution ever create such a complex organism. To this question scientists, anthropologists, and radical atheist's cannot simply give me a clue as to how or why the bacterial flagellum is created over time or how 1 part became another part and so on. When you say there are no contradictions or gaps in
can anybody tell the name of the movie...? plot is like that: a mother went on a African Safari along with her two children in a Jeep. Jeep break down and a lion attack them. its a story of their survival and in the end mother killed the lion by putting the jeep on fire
Want a 30-30 hunting rifle - but concerned about the economy and greater versatility of a 30-06 bolt action? OK - here's the situation I'm in, I won't be deer or elk hunting until next fall. I am pretty sure I want a lever-action 30-30 like a Marlin 336 because I am "recoil-sensitive" and will probably be shooting in "brush". (I fired a 7mm Rem. Mag. and HATED the recoil) and plan on stalking the animals up close in the brush and taking shots at 100 yards or less (NV has some dense brushy areas). Big O' 5 is offering the Marlin 336 on sale through October 11 for about $399. Should I buy it now...or wait? A lot of people think the economy is heading south, and if that's the case, I could probably buy the 30-30 Marlin Model 336 gently used at a big discount. Should I wait until I find a really good deal on a barely used Marlin 336 - or should I just buy one now and practice as much as I can afford? I live in Nevada and big game tags are few and far inbetween. Or, should I just use the money to buy a Savage 30-06 bolt action w/scope for about the same price so I can shoot longer distances? Even though I probably will be taking shots under 100 yards and HATE shoulder-busting recoil? I love shooting the small caliber (.22lr) handguns I have, and I can handle the recoil of my 870 model 12-gauge firing 2 3/4 inch "target loads" all day long. But I fired just two shots from a 7mm Remington Mag bolt action my friend has...and my shoulder hurt for a week! Should I get the lever-action now and practice, practice, practice, until I can nail a paper plate at 100+yards...or should I "man up" and get a 30-06, or 7mm Mag., and just deal with the painful recoil and figure that the inherent accuracy and power of a bolt action 30-06 outweighs the lightweight and easy carry-ability of a lever-action 30-30? For what its worth, I am sort of new to hunting, but figure most of my shots will be taken after a long "stalk" at 100 yards or less after hiking a few to several miles over rough terrain. I also like the rapid firing capability of the lever-action since I may hunt mountain lions as well, the NV tag is only $29 if you're a resident, and I would love nothing more than to nab a mountain lion! I am somewhat concerned that the slower firing capability of a bolt action could be a problem if I run into a lion. If recoil was no issue I would get a Marlin 1895 45/70, but my right shoulder was injured when I was a kid, and I just HATE big recoil. I want the minimum recoil in exchange for an accurate and acceptable-powered hunting rifle for medium and quasi-big game. In the unlikely event I ever go on an Alaskan or African Safari, I could get a bigger rifle, like a Ruger .375. I just want a good rifle for deer, antelope, mountain lion, and elk this coming (2009) fall season. Should I get a new Marlin 336 30-30 for under $400 bucks and practice? - or should I spend about the same and get a bolt action 30-06 for about the same price and figure that the bolt-action 30-06 is a better all-around choice? Again, I am "recoil-sensitive" and want only the minimum recoil necessary to fire a big enough bullet to get up to Elk sized game.
Have you heard this one yet? One day these two 80 year old men living in a retirement home were exchanging stories of their adventures when they were younger. The first says," I remember being on an African safari in the middle of the Serenghetti Plains, and I was asleep -- when I was awakened by a rustling sound just outside my tent. I grabbed my rifle and crept outside and there before me about 20 feet away was the biggest lion I had ever seen. I raised my rifle to my shoulder and was taking aim, when suddenly the lion went roooaaaaarrrrrr!! I s*h*i*t my pants!" The other guy said, "You mean you s*h*i*t your pants when the lion was about to attack you?" The first guy said, " No, just now, when I went "roooaaarrrrr!"
Three riddles!! All very easy!!? You must answer all of the riddle to be chosen. You must tell me the rules of them to win. DO NOT GIVE A RULE UNLESS YOU HAVE ALL THREE!! 1. We are going around the world. First we go to Africa. Second we go to Russia. Third is Oregon. Next we got to Ukraine. After that we go to Nigeria. And we end our trip in Denmark. Where can we go (rule)? 2. We are going on an African safari (not like #1). First we see a Snake. Second we see an Elephant. Third we see a Tiger. After that we see a Rhinoceros. Then we see a Seal. Finally we see a Lion. What is the rule? 3. What can go through the Green Glass Door? Trees can, but bushes cannot. Weeds can, but crops cannot. Apples can, but bananas cannot. Wood can, but metal cannot. Sweet stuff can, but sour things cannot. Grass can, but plants cannot. Coffee can, but tea cannot. Mammals can, but reptiles cannot. Smoothies can, but Milkshakes cannot. What can go through the green glass door (rule)? Answer all three to win 10 points!!
Ivory Elephant, Very Concerned!!? I have a small trinket my grandfather gave me for my 19th birthday. It fits in my fist and its made of ivory. It is a mini statue of three elephants standing in a circle with their trunks over each other's backs. Underneath the carvings of the elephants, there is a safari truck with hunters and lions and other african animals entwined in the elephants legs. The top comes off and on the inside it says "The Big Day 30.9.95" Does anyone have a clue what this means, its been bothering me for the longest time. This mini statue is made of pure ivory, I know its valuable but I would really like to know what this inscription means as its been bothering me since Ive received it. Thanks.
What is the name of this song? it was released about 1997 or so. It was shot in what looked like africa and it had an african kid in a safari like environment looking at the lions and stuff. the lyrics were something like " hay na ma ma ma...............heeeeeeey yaaaaaaaa" OMG if someone can get it from that it would be amazing!!! lol. please help!!!!!
My story so far what do you think about it and what should happen next? The white lion Sitting in my lap was a lion cub. She was beautiful for many reasons and one of those reasons was that she was 100% white. She sparkled in the African sun and opened and closed her eyes constantly because of the heat. I lifted a bottle from the ground and let her drink the milk. But my lion was in major danger. Many hunters would kill her just to get her rare coat. So I needed to take her to a safe place. I took the bottle away from her and carried her to my jeep. The only place I could take her was an African animal reserve. Fortunately one was close. So I went there. My cub was in danger here too but not because of a hunter. I kissed her on the head and slipped her through the fence. Chapter 1 3 months later….. A lion pride lay sprawled out together in the shade of an umbrella tree. One of them was completely white. She and her pride where rarely seen by people taking safaris. She did her best to stay away and keep hidden. All the female lions had immediately adopted her. She was one of the rarest of her kind. But today the lions felt anxious. They wouldn’t let her out of there sight. Kalama the main companion of kaolin the leader lion kept her close to her and kept picking her up by the scruff and carrying her to trees nearby every time a truck drove by. But that was hard since there weren’t a lot of trees where they were walking today. But even they still managed to keep her hidden anyway. One particular truck caught Kalama’s eye. It was a bright color and had parked on the dirt close to the pride of lions. She could sense danger almost immediately. Kalama made loud chuffing noises to the pride and they looked at the jeep. Kaolin stood up and roared. He shook his main and glared at the truck. Then he started to walk towards it. The men inside the truck lifted a gun to the window and pointed it at kaolin. Seconds later he lay dead on the ground. The men opened the doors and lifted him in the back of the truck. But it turned out he wasn’t dead. Maybe a little weak but he could survive. When they noticed him alive they yelled at each other and one grabbed a heavy duty chain collar and leash. Kaolin acted fierce at first but then he slipped and layed on the trucks mat. They put the collar around his neck and tied the leash to the trucks trailer hookup. Kaolin lifted his head but then put it down again. The men went back in the truck but didn’t drive off because one of the men screeched and pointed towards the lion pride. Kisa (the white lion) had sat down about 4 feet from the truck. Her head was cocked and the sun sparkled on her white fur. Her eyes where sparkling blue. And her ears turned in every direction. The men suddenly realized that right there in front of them was the most valuable animal on the poaching market. They could kill her for her fur or sell her to a zoo or put her in a cage and keep her until she was worth even more money. The third choice was the one they settled on. Quietly they opened the doors and walked towards her slowly and calmly. She thought they wanted to play and ran happily to them. Smiling they grabbed her and through her a box, nailing the top on. Kalama growled and lowered her body, prowling towards them. Even though they had guns and could easily kill her something stopped them. And that something was another truck coming towards them. This time it was the park ranger. With panicked looks they jumped in the truck and raced off. Kalama chased after them. Her heart was pounding and her paws thudded on the ground. But she couldn’t chase them forever. She tripped and lay there on the ground looking towards the truck that was speeding away with her cub. At least that was what Kalama thought. She stood up and started walking towards the pride. When she reached the pride they were all chuffing and prancing around franticly. She sprawled out on the ground and closed her eyes. Depression hit her like a bomb. Many animals got depressed when they lost their friends and baby’s. And this time it was Kalama who got depressed. The park ranger came to her but she opened her eyes and lunged at him. Kisa was gone and probably for good. Miles and miles away was a box bouncing up and down with a very cramped kisa inside. She was scared as well and just wanted to be home. Kaolin was angry. He had seen kisa be thrown into the box like she was a trash bag and not a living animal. He stood up as far as the leash would let him. Then he crept slowly towards the box kisa was in. Carefully he put his paws up on the box and with one final hesitation he swiped the box right off the truck. Kaolin did this because unlike most lions he knew how kisa felt. Once he had been a poor helpless cub whose father had been shot and he had been thrown in a box as well. His father had used his last bit of strength to knock the box of the truck. The box had hit the groun
"THE MOTHER LAND" aka AFRICA? As Africans, black and white, we appreciate people visiting and liking our countries because we are beautiful people in stunning places. TOURISTS: Why do they all wear safari suits when they come to Africa. You'll bump into them in malls with that tourist walk and confusion in their eyes, wondering why we are dressed in "normal clothes" and where the wild life is. AMERICANS: What is this story about the mother land and coming back to your people? I understand you needing to know about your past and ancestors. Please do your research, slaves WERE NOT taken from Southern Africa. Just because we have cars, tvs and all the stuff you are used to back home doesn't mean that SA is the mother land. PS: not all black South African are Zulu. We have hot water and everything you have in the US. WE go to the zoo when we want to see Lions. Don't take this the wrong way, we want you to visit and feel at home; just don't throw BS at us.
conclusion? conclusion? HELP PLEASE :]? ok. guys some help is needed :] i have an analytical writting essay due and i need some help on my conclusion :] The relationships between characters within the following texts, “The Man who Laughs at Lions” by Bryce Walton and Joanne Harris who wrote “Faith and Hope go Shopping”, undoubtedly express a fluent theme of respect. Walton utilises the analytical tools of the genre such as plot, setting and values of the main character; Frank McClinton, a hunter whose respect, for the African jungle, or lack of, is non existent. Harris; however, illustrates the theme of respect between the two characters; Hope and Faith as a strong bond that helps two elderly ladies escape from the chains of a nursing home into the “real world”. Both stories convey a clear theme that encompasses the issue of different respect between characters in an unlike and original way. In the first place, the issue of respect, or lack of, is evidently shown through out the text; The Man who laughs at lions, as the main character; Frank McClinton, is introduced as a malicious and dominating hunter who has no respect for his surroundings, only himself and his wall of trophies. ‘He never gave a damn for anything but himself, his own power, his own glory.’ [Walton, 1982, Pg76]Through out the text, the obscene relationship between McClinton and the African Jungle can be described as man showing no respect, whatsoever, to beast. This is clearly shown as McClinton ventures into the wild with two guides; Mr Vanderveer and Gombi. ‘He hardly looked back or paused for a picture. He kept pushing and killing and leaving the carcasses black and fly-brown in the sun.’ [Walton, 1982, Pg77] This quote exactly describes the lack of respect, man shows to beast, opposed to the relationship beast shows to man. The issue of respect that beast shows to man is at first non existent but then more of, a lack of, as the hell dogs get revenge. Through out the short story, by Harris, the African jungle does not have any chance to show Frank McClinton any respect due to the conspicuous feelings Frank has to the jungle. “Our safari hardly stopped for breath from that time until the disastrous finale. McClinton had incredible endurance fortified by a mad obsession for killing” [Walton, 1982, Pg77] At the end of the Text; The Man who laughs at Lions, the jungle finally gets its revenge as the hell dogs perpetuate the hunt for McClinton. ‘His clothes flew behind him in tatters. His body was a smear of mud formed of dust, sweat and blood’ [Walton, 1982, Pg81] Leaving Mr McClinton with no respect, at all, for the jungle which led to the hell dogs leaving him with physical and mental scars. “You know, he got rid of all his hunting dogs. He stays away from dogs, but I never thought- and there was that funny business in Mexico. We were in a little café. Some dogs came in and went among the tables feeding on bits of shrimp and fish. Frank moved back. He turned pale. He backed clear to the door and ran out and kept running” [Walton, 1982, Pg82] McClinton was a brute coward who throughout the text, showed no respect for his surroundings. In contrast, respect among the characters Faith and Hope is warm and full hearted. “Hope pushes me around in my chair, and I direct her” [Harris, 2004, Pg2] Not only do they live day by day next to each other, but they fervently talk, gossip and bicker about the surrounding backdrop of the ever so mundane nursing home. “I’m not saying it’s a bad place here. It’s just so ordinary not the comfortable ordinariness of home, with its familiar grime and clutter, but that of waiting-rooms and hospitals, a pastel detergent place with a smell of air fresheners and distant bedpans.” [Harris, 2004, Pg2] Faith and Hope share a strong and respectful bond as two friends, that helps two elderly ladies escape into the real world and live by rules of the older generation. At the humdrum nursing home, the relationships between the staff and Hope and Faith can be related to that of a Younger generation to an older generation. “There aren’t many books here, but the library van comes around every four weeks, and we send Lucy out to get us something nice. Lucy’s a college student on Work Experience, so she knows what to choose. Hope was furious when she wouldn’t let us have Lolita, though. Lucy thought it wouldn’t suit us.” [Harris, 2004, Pg3] As the storyline, begins within the text, it is easy to tell that Hope and Faith are not exactly the favourites with either the staff or surrounding guest members. “They get that look- even the brighter ones- that nursery-nurse smile which says I know better. I know better because you’re old.” [Joanne Harris, 2004, Pg3] The lack of respect between the relationship of the staff and patients that epitomises young and old, not only enables the couple to escape but it gives Faith and Hope a chance to abide by their own rules, not the rules of the younger generation. The lack of
