African Safari Animals Knowledge Base
I want to work with exotic African animals BUT??!!? I aboslutely love animals and art. I would love to have a career in working with exotic/wild African animals like a zoologist, or a wild life biologist or a marine biologist or a wildlife rehabilitationist!! I want to travel to remote parts of africa and study how lions and monkeys and other animals interact with one another! BUT, the thing is my marks in science absolutely SUCK!! I am pretty good at math, and i excel in areas of science that involves things like ecology, anatomy, psychology, evolution but i am not so good at things like chemistry, physics, like they are just too confusing for me..... my parents say its because i dont study, but i think its just because i am just not science smart. so my question is do i need to take chemistry and other science courses (in highschool) to work with animals? I am in going into grade 11 this fall and grade 11 and 12 marks count toward my university applications. I want to get into art but my parents wont let me, I want to work with animals but it deals with science, so my only option is to go into business... well my dad is making me... but i absolutely HATE IT is there a way that i can work with african safari animals without courses like chemistry and physics? PLEASE HELP MEEEEEEEE I DONT WANT TO BE STUCK WITH A JOB I HATE FOR THE REST OF MY LIFE
African Safari? Have you ever been on an African Safari? I know there are choices between tanzania and Kenya and South Africa - but really, what is the difference? I want to see lots of animals, and squeeze in Victoria Falls. Which destination do you think is best?
Which African park is best for seeing animals on safari in early April? My Mom and I are planning a holiday to Africa for sometime in the first two weeks of April next year. I need to be in Tanzania for mid-April but am flexible about where we can go in Africa before then. We would like to go on safari whilst out there, and I was wondering if anyone knew of any parks that were particularly good for seeing animals at that time of year? I've been trying to find out about migration patterns - as I've been told migration is the time to spot the most wildlife - but haven't got very far! Can anyone recommend any parks we could visit - anywhere in Africa (although preferably somewhere politically stable!) - where we would be likely to see a lot of wildlife in the beginning of April?! Many thanks, Kat
african lion safari or toronto zoo? I am 6 months pregnant and want to take my daughter either to the toronto zoo or african lion safari this weekend. (it will probably be Holiday Monday judging the weather forcast). I can't do much walking and was wondering, is it better to take my 20 month daughter to the zoo or African Lion Safari. Which will she see more animals from the bus at African Lion Safari or the zoo? Also any one know if either will be packed on a holiday Monday?

African Lion Safari in Ontario- Take my Car? I am going to the african lion safari in Ontario during the summer. I have a land rover and I think it would be cool to drive through with. But at the same time, I don't want to have my car busted up by the animals? Is this a concern. Any personal experiences?
is it even worth it to go to african lion safari? we are already going to the toronto zoo because even though i live in buffalo i won't give that crappy zoo a penny. i heard the animals look sad and lazy laying around and its $30 which is a decent amount of money for my boyfriend and i. is it worth it?
Name of old African Safari hunting game? I remember you could go in a jeep and track some droppings and prints and go to a place and hunt animals. You could hunt in trees and make elephants angry and they would either run around the tree, or try to knock it down with its' tusks. And if you shot the wrong game an English Game guy would yell at you for wrong game hunted and you go back to the main screen. It was in 3D graphics I believe.
African Safari Theme? Has anybody been to the African Safari theme in Disney, Fla. I saw it on TV and didn't catch it all. You go on a safari truck and ride through Africa. It's suspose to be like the real thing. Live animals, rough riding in the truck, almost being able to touch the animals. I'v looked it up on the internet and can't get much info. Anybody know what I'm talking about?
Why is African Safari trips so expensive? I understand that seeing exotic animals and nature to its fullest is a great thing and not anything like your local zoo, but it is a billion dollar industry in Africa, where does all that money go? My dad and I traveled to Tanzania and spent $ 3,000 for only a week to see animals in Sarenghetti and lived by camp hotel. It was all worthy it.
Can someone explain African safaris and safari lodges?! pleasee? im from new york and am really considering going to africa. i want to go on a safari trip and stay in a safari lodge but im not sure how it works and i just want some information on it. like wheres the best country and place to go to see the best animals, like elephants, giraffes, lions, leopards, etc. how many days do you normally stay at the same safari lodge? do the lodges organize trips down to actually see and get close to the animals? whens the best time to see the most animals? and wheres a good place to go if i want to go to a beach in the same vacation, like Zanzibar or something? and if anyone could share their vacation stories and what you did i would really appreciate it thanks
is the african lion safari a zoo? i guess i classify a zoo where the animals are in cages.. me and my friend were arguing over whether or not it was a zoo.. so i want your opinion .. thanks
How do animals at open safaris not attack the cars that go by? I just don't understand. A few years ago my husband and I went to a local safari calling African Lion Safari where they have lions, monkeys and such. When we went to the lion secition, they were just sitting there. How is this possible? Yeah when we went, we skipped the monkey section because they warned us that the monkeys will go on your car and can scratch it up.
Okay, I know this is a really stupid question but would pit bulls be able to survive in the safari? I was watching animal planet with my dad the other day and I started thinking about what would happen if we dropped off all the pit bulls (especiall the crazy one) right in the middle of the african safari. Besides the Lions what could destroy them...Hmm..could a lion even destroy a crazy pit bull??? I would love to hear some opinions. Thank you. Lets just say that we dump all the crazy one out there and they don't kill eachother. Also, can all the people who think I'm an animal abuser chill out! This is just a hypothetical question. I don't mind pit bulls at all. IT'S JUST A QUESTION!!!
What is the name of an old PC game where you hunt in the African safari? it was a hunting game primary in Africa i think. You had to take medicine when you were in the swamps, for preventing malaria. When you had shot an animal you came into like a African hut where you could see your trophies. I also remember, that when going out on a mission the loading screen was The World Map and then an airplane flying to your destination. You earned money for the trophies too i think. I just don't remember its name, could really need some help here. I also think, that you couldn't walk around on a map, you just laid down and scoped around with the mouse. sorry to say that none of these previous 3 answers are it, but thanks for helping
African lion safari when it's raining? Will the animals come out? it's only slightly showering and I dont want to spend over that much money if i'm not going to get the full experience. thanks.
At African Lion Safari? I've never been there before (It's in Cambridge, Canada). I know in old promotions there were photos of dolphins and other sea animals, but I've heard that there aren't anymore? Is this true? Thanks!
why do people think that the animals are running around in south africa? do people really think that the lions run around outside in south africa...at the airport in america i saw a guy sitting with his african safari outfit he seriously looked like he was on his why to the mid evil times, and when we asked him about it he said he was on his way to south africa...hello people, we have houses and cars and computers and everything here..some info for u: we dont all have aids here, we dont live in huts, we dont have tigers for pets...dont get confused with africa and south africa

What's this song called? I was wondering what the name and artist of a song was. There are no real lyrics to the song, and it starts out with a tuneful piano melody. Then a drum beat comes in and about half way through the song what sounds like African singing comes in. On the video for the song there are lots of people dressed up as African safari animals and it's quite weird. If you have any ideas or know the song name please answer! Thanks.

Nikkor 70-300mm VR lens. Good wildlife (safari) lens? I need to find a great (and affordable) lens for an African safari I'm doing this summer, and I've heard amazing reviews about the Nikkor 70-300mm lens. Before I buy it, though, I need some opinions or an answer as to if it'd be alright for a safari. I want to be able to get up close shots of the animals, even if I'm at a distance.
will gorillas be extinct from the wild soon? I hope not. im planning an african safari to go in a few years, and i wanna see a wild gorilla in its normal habitat. are theri any other species of cool animals dying out soon? like with in 10 years?
Why do white people care more about animals than other races? This means they are animals right. Throughout most of European histotry the inhabitants have been cave dwellers who lived among animals feral. Yet white claim Africans live in jungles next to animals today yet only the only people you will see in the African Safaris are white people putting computer chips in lions tails or sleeping in the bush. They care more about their pet dog than their black neighbours. Dress their dogs in clothes and let them lick the insides of their mouth.
i need ideas plz help!? 1)my moms dream is to go to Africa is there any way to get tickets for an african safari for free like radio stations or grand prizes? 2)as i said my mom loves african animals not really like a tribal theme like a safari anyway, i wanted to make some crafts for her i have already done a duct tape lion and a big elephant head made out of paint swatches for her wall
East African Tour but not too many safaris? I am looking for a tour from Kenya to South Africa that goes for roughly 4 weeks. The only thing is I'm not that into animals and the idea of going on endless safaris. Of course i'll do at least one while in Africa but I don't want that to be the majority of the tour. Most companies seem to focus on this aspect of Africa whereas I'd rather get into the culture a bit more. Any suggestions?
what kind of food for a safari themed baby shower? Let me give you a little background. I am not planning my own shower. My sis in laws are asking me what I want and how to do it and I am glad they want my input. I am going to have a classy safari themed luncheon shower with the fine china and all but I do not know about what kind of food to suggest. The decor is going to be awesome, I am going to have white table cloths with animal skin print runners and african animal center pieces with lots of greenery. We will have mosquito type netting hanging from the ceilings. Any other classy ideas for decor or food? Please help...
African styled music? Okay, so I don't know if anybody has been on the safari at Animal Kingdom but at one point they play this african music. idk if it was tribal or something but it was really soothing my point being, where could i find some good, soothing african-type/styled tribe music? thank you :D
How come Wild Dogs are not kept as pets? They don't look that big? I don't know if you're familiar with Wild Dogs, but they are those dogs that hang around hyena's a lot if you ever watch National Geographic. They have kind of a dark black and brown coat. Anyway, how come we didn't domesticate those dogs if we were able to domesticate other dogs. They don't look like the biggest dog. It looks like those dogs police own and other dogs are a lot bigger than them. Wild dogs, in the wild, are usually running away from lions, hyenas, and EVEN the weakest big cat, the cheetah. They have to work in packs in order to kill their prey and they usually can only kill baby animals. So it doesn't seem like Wild Dogs are that dangerous. Does anyone know if they have ever been attempted be domesticated or not? How would a Wild Dog fair with police man helping them protect the world against Criminals. If you're still unaware of what I'm talking about, here's a pic of the African Wild Dog, http://images.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://www.african-safari-pictures.com/im The reason I ask is because that is the kind of dog I want. I want one of my very own. My only little cuddly African Wild Dog. I really want a Hyena, but people say they aren't dogs. They still look like ones and if I can't have a Hyena, I want a Wild Dog.
Do you think animals appreciate good music and enjoy making music? London, Aug 13 (ANI): An elephant in West Midlands Safari Park knows how to play the harmonica. Five, an African elephant, took up the hobby after a silver harmonica was accidentally left on the side of his enclosure. The jumbo apparently times its puffs to produce a rhythmic sound. In fact, now the animal regularly places the instrument into her trunk and plays it to the wonder of the keepers. "It is very unusual for animals to actually get a sense of playing a tune. Five was really curious about it when it was left on the side - but everyone just thought she would lose interest after a few minutes," the Telegraph quoted Wendy Jackson, spokeswoman from the park as saying. She added: "But she kept going with it, hitting a few notes before realising what it did. Five was making tunes within a few weeks- it really is amazing." The West Midland Safari Park has three African elephants, which were rescued from an elephant orphanage in 1998 and they apparently have unique skills. Five also picks up a paintbrush with her trunk to scrawl, while Latabe , other female elephant at the park, plays with a football. Director of Wildlife at the Park Bob Lawrence mentioned that it was amazing to witness such unusual habits in the elephants. He said: "They love to spend time eating, strolling around and investigating their surroundings. It was amazing when Five picked up the harmonica and started to play it - both female elephants really love music. "The keepers play rock music to them to soothe them when they are being groomed. They all seem to have a number of talents - it is quite extraordinary. "Five keeps the other elephants amused with the tunes and she plays it for a few minutes or so before going off to do something else. I just can't wait to see what they are going to come up with next." (ANI) Edit: Bear...a shehnai?!..but if HE did it just to make music it would be something, wouldn't it?! Animals do love music...i know a Bear who does..
My English paper. Does it sound ok? Spinning in the tea cups at Disney World, I couldn’t focus on just one thing so I looked at Katie sitting across from me. It was autumn 2004, and I was in fourth grade. My trip to Disney World was the most memorable experience of my life. We’ve been wanting to go there for a while and finally bought out tickets and got a hotel room. When we began driving I had no idea what was in store for me, who knew Ohio was so big?! We had to take two cars to fit all of us. I was me, my sister Savanna, my cousin Kaitlynne, Nana, Papa, Mom and my aunt and uncle. Two days in the car with your cousin and sister would sound miserable, bit it really wasn’t. We had fun on the was there. We stopped at Savannah, Georgia to take a picture because Savanna thought it was cool that there was a city that was the same name as hers. In South Carolina we went to the beach and collected seashells. There were houses down there that reminded me of Dr. Seuss’ drawings. They were abnormally shaped and seemed like cookie jars rather than houses. Just when we crossed the Florida border Katie, Savanna and I asked my mom almost every minute “are we there yet?!” At last we were! I saw the sign that said, “Walt Disney World, Where Dreams Come True” accompanied by Mickey Mouse and a bunch of palm trees! I couldn’t have been any more excited! We went to the front desks and checked in, and then we made our way to the Fantasia hotel. Our room was right by the huge statue of a ballerina and a toy soldier. We got right to the Magic Kingdom to see Cinderella’s castle and ride some rides. I saw Walt Disney’s statue of him and Mickey Mouse called “Partners” right when we walked it. Just seeing it was unforgettable. There, I met Alice, Tweedle-Dee and Tweedle-Dumb from my all time favorite movie, Alice in Wonderland. Tweedle-Dee took out my hair and tied it up in a side pony, I was just laughing the whole time and my mom was taking pictures. Katie was talking to Alice, and Savanna was getting her picture with Tweedle-Dumb. That experience was one I’ll never forget. We took pictures with all of the Disney characters; I got their autographs and everything. We went to Epcot, which was really cool. There, we went to italy and Russia and all kinds of places in the World Showcase. The ride inside the Epcot ball was fun. Katie, Papa, mom and I went on the ride called “Mission Space” where you have to land your spaceship on Mars. It felt so real! It sucked me to the seat like a vacuum as we left Earth. We could move our heads or talk. Katie was the pilot and I was the communications manager, everyone had their own jobs on the spaceship. We got there in one piece and came back to Earth with a good report. When the ride was over my mom had to explain to Katie that we didn’t really go to Mars and we we’re just spinning extremely fast. Ever since then I go on every spinning ride when I go to amusement parks. At the Animal Kingdom we took a safari and saw all of the African animals in the wild. There were giraffes, zebras, hippos and even lions. I was afraid because there wasn’t anything keeping the animals from us, it was just open land. At Hollywood Studios we got to see Indiana Jones Live Stunt Spectacular. They were blowing up cars and running around the stage. I could feel the hot fire in my face, even in the audience. There were so many other rides I went on at Disney World, but I just can’t remember them all. This trip taught me to never let go of your childhood because you only have it once. Also, to live every second of your life with happiness. That’s why I cherish the memories I have from Disney World and it is my most memorable experience. That's the end. I got a B on it, so if anyone has any suggestions on hoe to revise it, that'd be cool (^-^) THANK YOU

I need a good idea for Art Class? On Monday we are starting clay wind chimes in Arts & Crafts class. They have to have a base and at least 4 things hanging down. I'm thinking about using an African/Safari theme because it fits with my bedroom. I can't figure out where specifically to take that theme. I've thought about animals that live in the African savanna, African masks, a type of tree found in the savanna, the sun, and so on. I don't know exactly what combination of those things would look good or if those things would even be good at all. Plus, even though I'm in Arts & Crafts, I'm not the greatest artist so it really can't be too difficult. But anyway, any suggestions?
Safaris in South Africa? I would like to know a little more information about South African safaris. We have a company that we are thinking going through called Brave Heart Safaris. If you have any info on this group or have been on any safari like this in South Africa could you give information about it. You can look at there pan flits all day but until you have been there and seen whats going on then you can't tell if its the right trip. If you have any info. on Brave Heart safari or another safari that you recommend please tell. We would rather ask people who have been there rather than trust the companies words. Last time he took a hunt in Canada all the animals were fenced in like cattle (elk) and you could walk up and pet them.
Animal attacks.....dont blame them? I was just watching a show on Animal Planet that sparked this topic......animal attacks. I hate watching how people get mad at the animals if they attack someone, it seriously pisses me off, because when you think about it its not there fault, humans are too curious and sometimes too stupid for explanation.....i saw how a lady hopped over a fence in a zoo just to take a picture of a polar bear, the bear grabbed her and started gnawing at her thigh, everyone there was sitting there punching the bear in the head, hitting him with sticks etc....then they were all shouting at him like it was his fault, after it was all over. Everyone there only had sympathy for the lady, but me, if i was there, id check on the bear to see if he was okay. Call me cruel or whatever you want but thats what you get for trying to take a picture of a wild animal thats over 1000 pounds that isnt used to human contact or devices like a flashing camera, the bear knew no better, by his knowledge it could have been a danger to him, dont blame him, the lady was an idiot. Another thing i saw is a show called 'Bear Whisperer' and its about the constant struggle to keep bears out of a local town in a wooded area of california, the bears roam the streets, dig through the garbages, make noises etc.....the citizens of the town should've thought twice about building a town in a densely populated area of bears, they were there first, then humans swarm in like a flock of birds trying to take control, not realizing what theyre doing, the bears were indigenous to that area for thousands of years, how do you expect them to act? Im just tired of people blaming the animals, its not there fault, you play with fire you get burned, thats the way it is, the people are just in major denial of there obvious stupidity. (hypothetical reinactment) "Hmmm, i wonder what will happen if i walk around an african safari with a bloody steak strapped to my arm???"....then out of nowhere a lion attacks, and the person wonders why...like an idiot deserving a smack in the face, then has enough nerve to get mad at the lion,lol.....so stupid. So, blame the animals or not? I say NOT! lol.
Ivory Elephant, Very Concerned!!? I have a small trinket my grandfather gave me for my 19th birthday. It fits in my fist and its made of ivory. It is a mini statue of three elephants standing in a circle with their trunks over each other's backs. Underneath the carvings of the elephants, there is a safari truck with hunters and lions and other african animals entwined in the elephants legs. The top comes off and on the inside it says "The Big Day 30.9.95" Does anyone have a clue what this means, its been bothering me for the longest time. This mini statue is made of pure ivory, I know its valuable but I would really like to know what this inscription means as its been bothering me since Ive received it. Thanks.
What animal is this called? (picture)? http://www.african-safari-pictures.com/image-files/wild-dog-picture.jpg What is this animal called? I know some people call it a wild dog but I want to know what its real name is. This animal is found in africa. Please help me the best answer will get 10 points!
What if natural selection worked the opposite way? Picture instead of the animal changing or "adapting" it was the survival of the fittest in the fittest environment. In other words, the animal that was better "equipped" survived the harsh climates and the scarce food source, and the animal that was "ill-equipped" just died off it didnt change it and it doesnt adapt. The animal that survived rather didnt adapt or change also, it was just fit (like a puzzle). It works in the animal kingdom as a natural order of things too for example in the african safari the antelope will outnumber the lions 5 to 1 but when supply is increased the lions will increase because of the ease and availability of food source. But when the lions out number the antelope say 5 to 1 the lions begin to die off and mate less often leaving the antelope to populate the plains again and so the cycle continues. That is how the fittest survive in the environment, when the food source is gone or the climate changes drastically the population of a particular species dies off. The one that survives is NOT the one that adapted but the one animal better "equipped", in the first place, to survive. Because if this was true it would totally refute the Darwinian theory. Despite all the bone's we have of similar species/animals is would make perfect sense if there just animals like that to begin with. Now you may think that this ties into creationism, well in a way it does but im not trying to convince anyone im simply asking a provoking question. I got into a argument today and up until today i have always believed in Darwinian natural selection. Well this person sort of opened my eyes. A couple more questions: Who controls natural selection? If it was the animal, how come i cant grow wings? How come i cant simulate an environment and grow wings? If it was mother nature, well what is mother nature? And if it was God.....well....is it? Can that be the explanation for complex organisms? Or machine like organisms? Seems to me now that Intelligent Design is the likely team to win the cup in my field. I think the most important fact is that we as humans just dont know.....we just dont. Well supply and demand is apart of nature. I was trying to relate natures job with a realistic concept. Overall that was a bad example please ignore that. The first answer: I didnt like how you failed to answer the overall question. Your opinions on the others were "ok" and plausible in some ways but overall its not the answer im looking for The second answer: Great job on catching the supply and demand strategy but your answer explains selective breeding ....not natural selection. In selective breeding YOU choose....not nature so therefore your example is invalid. Thanks for your opinions Well to continue to an argument, the "perceived" fitness as you call it comes from the term alot from the evolution theory stating that its survival of the fittest. Its not some arbitrary definition, its been "proven" through the darwinian theroy. I like how you would agree on the simulated environment. Mis-information? Well if you mean that its a subject that we have no information for....that in its self is false. Think of complex machines. Like bacteria for example, the bacterial flagellum (im sure you know) is machine mechanism. A mechanism with about 7 parts. Un-deniable logic is that you cannot have working machine with parts missing or broken. Right? So how could natural selection/evolution ever create such a complex organism. To this question scientists, anthropologists, and radical atheist's cannot simply give me a clue as to how or why the bacterial flagellum is created over time or how 1 part became another part and so on. When you say there are no contradictions or gaps in
zoo tycoon 2? can anyone tell me why my animals are killing their own kind and why it is always the pregnent ones?are there any other zoo tycoon 2 addons besides marine mania, african safari and endangered species?
What kind of animal did I see? When I went on an African safari several years ago, I went exploring on my own and spotted some kind of really gigantic animal. It was mostly hairless with a grey hide and had walked on four pillar-like legs. The hairs were at the end of its small tail. For its head size, the ears were not very big, so it probably could not use them to cool itself off as well as an African elephant could. It had toe nails on its feet, but I didn't see any toes. It had what looked like a giant penis growing off its face where its nose should have been. It also had a fairly short pair of fangs growing right off its bottom lip and those fangs were curved back. What was that weird animal? It used the penis on its face to grab a tree branch and eat the leaves and it sounded like some sort of trumpet like noise.
jokessssssss........laugh and give me star.plzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz? On an African Safari, the native guide was asked how to keep from being attacked by wild animals at night. "Just carry a lighted torch. " He suggested. "Does that really work?" the questioner persisted. "It depends" said the guide, "On how fast you carry it." !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! A man and a friend are playing golf one day at their local golf course. One of the guys is about to chip onto the green when he sees a long funeral procession on the road next to the course. He stops in mid-swing, takes off his golf cap, closes his eyes, and bows down in prayer. His friend says: "Wow, that is the most thoughtful and touching thing I have ever seen. You truly are a kind man. The man then replies: "Yeah, well we were married for 35 years." !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! A carpet layer had just finished installing carpet for a lady. He stepped out for a smoke, only to realize that he had lost his cigarettes. In the middle of the room, under the carpet, was a bump. "No sense pulling up the entire floor for one pack of smokes," he said to himself. He got out his hammer and flattened the hump. As he was cleaning up, the lady came in. "Here," she said, handing him his pack of cigarettes. "I found them in the hallway." "Now," she said, "if only I could find my parakeet." !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! A young man who was also an avid golfer found himself with a few hours to spare one afternoon. He figured if he hurried and played very fast, he could get in 9 holes before he had to head home. Just as he was about to tee off an old gentleman shuffled onto the tee and asked if he could accompany the young man as he was golfing alone. Not being able to say no, he allowed the old gent to join him. To his surprise the old man played fairly quickly. He didn't hit the ball far, but plodded along consistently and didn't waste much time. Finally, they reached the 9th fairway and the young man found himself with a tough shot. There was a large pine tree right in front of his ball, directly between his ball and the green. After several minutes of debating how to hit the shot the old man finally said, "You know, when I was your age I'd hit the ball right over that tree." With that challenge placed before him, the youngster swung hard, hit the ball up, right smack into the top of the tree trunk and it thudded back on the ground not a foot from where it had originally lay. The old man offered one more comment, "Of course, when I was your age that pine tree was only 3 feet tall."
How would vegans handle it if an annoying bird tried to get them to have some honey from a beehive? On June 15, 1994, a vegan was on an African safari when a bird came fluttering around him telling him that there was something really cool that he wanted to show him. The vegan decided to follow the bird until they stopped at a beehive. The bird told the vegan that he could have some honey from the beehive. The vegan refused, saying that he did not eat anything that came from animals. The bird said that he was hungry and that he needed someone open the beehive for him. The vegan just left telling the bird to get someone else to do his dirty work for him. On June 16, 1994, that same bird flew back to the vegan and said that he understood that despite being capable of helping him, the vegan believed that his dietary choices would be of more help for animals. The bird told him that this time he would take him to a tree that had delicious fruits growing from it. The vegan followed the bird to a tree and picked some fruits to share with the bird. When the vegan opened the fruit, a honey badger suddenly leapt out of the fruit and killed the vegan. The bird said that was for not helping him on June 15, 1994. As the honey badger was feasting on the flesh of the vegan, the bird thanked the honey badger again for sharing the contents of the honeycomb that he was led to on June 15, 1994. The honey badger said that it was no problem. We often do intend to do what we believe is best for others, but sometimes that is not always the case.
Want a 30-30 hunting rifle - but concerned about the economy and greater versatility of a 30-06 bolt action? OK - here's the situation I'm in, I won't be deer or elk hunting until next fall. I am pretty sure I want a lever-action 30-30 like a Marlin 336 because I am "recoil-sensitive" and will probably be shooting in "brush". (I fired a 7mm Rem. Mag. and HATED the recoil) and plan on stalking the animals up close in the brush and taking shots at 100 yards or less (NV has some dense brushy areas). Big O' 5 is offering the Marlin 336 on sale through October 11 for about $399. Should I buy it now...or wait? A lot of people think the economy is heading south, and if that's the case, I could probably buy the 30-30 Marlin Model 336 gently used at a big discount. Should I wait until I find a really good deal on a barely used Marlin 336 - or should I just buy one now and practice as much as I can afford? I live in Nevada and big game tags are few and far inbetween. Or, should I just use the money to buy a Savage 30-06 bolt action w/scope for about the same price so I can shoot longer distances? Even though I probably will be taking shots under 100 yards and HATE shoulder-busting recoil? I love shooting the small caliber (.22lr) handguns I have, and I can handle the recoil of my 870 model 12-gauge firing 2 3/4 inch "target loads" all day long. But I fired just two shots from a 7mm Remington Mag bolt action my friend has...and my shoulder hurt for a week! Should I get the lever-action now and practice, practice, practice, until I can nail a paper plate at 100+yards...or should I "man up" and get a 30-06, or 7mm Mag., and just deal with the painful recoil and figure that the inherent accuracy and power of a bolt action 30-06 outweighs the lightweight and easy carry-ability of a lever-action 30-30? For what its worth, I am sort of new to hunting, but figure most of my shots will be taken after a long "stalk" at 100 yards or less after hiking a few to several miles over rough terrain. I also like the rapid firing capability of the lever-action since I may hunt mountain lions as well, the NV tag is only $29 if you're a resident, and I would love nothing more than to nab a mountain lion! I am somewhat concerned that the slower firing capability of a bolt action could be a problem if I run into a lion. If recoil was no issue I would get a Marlin 1895 45/70, but my right shoulder was injured when I was a kid, and I just HATE big recoil. I want the minimum recoil in exchange for an accurate and acceptable-powered hunting rifle for medium and quasi-big game. In the unlikely event I ever go on an Alaskan or African Safari, I could get a bigger rifle, like a Ruger .375. I just want a good rifle for deer, antelope, mountain lion, and elk this coming (2009) fall season. Should I get a new Marlin 336 30-30 for under $400 bucks and practice? - or should I spend about the same and get a bolt action 30-06 for about the same price and figure that the bolt-action 30-06 is a better all-around choice? Again, I am "recoil-sensitive" and want only the minimum recoil necessary to fire a big enough bullet to get up to Elk sized game.
Will you find this funny? Fill the blanks seriously and make your horror story. One (weather-related adjective) night, (no. greater than two, but less than seven) friends were (fun halloween activity) inside a cemetery. (Surprising adverb), a vicious (halloween creature) rose out from the grave of (long dead person with an old fashioned name), the former town (weird occupation)! The monster had the head of an (African safari creature) but was covered entirely in (soft, squooshy, slimy animal skin covering). But they know that they were facing the beast of (word that starts with B). The beast soon overtook them, and their ghosts, still haunts this place to this very day. One sunny night, 3 1/2 friends were losing their marbles inside a cemetery. Surprisingly, a vicious monster rose out from the grave of Lord Baldy-mort, the former town candy maker. The monster had the head of a wildebeest, but was covered entirely in guinea pig fur. But they know they were facing the beast of beauty. I got it in K-zone.
Safari Country? Traveling through an african wildlife reserve, a tourist counted 44 heads and 144 feet divided unequally between animals and birds. How many animals and how many birds did the tourist see?
My story so far what do you think about it and what should happen next? The white lion Sitting in my lap was a lion cub. She was beautiful for many reasons and one of those reasons was that she was 100% white. She sparkled in the African sun and opened and closed her eyes constantly because of the heat. I lifted a bottle from the ground and let her drink the milk. But my lion was in major danger. Many hunters would kill her just to get her rare coat. So I needed to take her to a safe place. I took the bottle away from her and carried her to my jeep. The only place I could take her was an African animal reserve. Fortunately one was close. So I went there. My cub was in danger here too but not because of a hunter. I kissed her on the head and slipped her through the fence. Chapter 1 3 months later….. A lion pride lay sprawled out together in the shade of an umbrella tree. One of them was completely white. She and her pride where rarely seen by people taking safaris. She did her best to stay away and keep hidden. All the female lions had immediately adopted her. She was one of the rarest of her kind. But today the lions felt anxious. They wouldn’t let her out of there sight. Kalama the main companion of kaolin the leader lion kept her close to her and kept picking her up by the scruff and carrying her to trees nearby every time a truck drove by. But that was hard since there weren’t a lot of trees where they were walking today. But even they still managed to keep her hidden anyway. One particular truck caught Kalama’s eye. It was a bright color and had parked on the dirt close to the pride of lions. She could sense danger almost immediately. Kalama made loud chuffing noises to the pride and they looked at the jeep. Kaolin stood up and roared. He shook his main and glared at the truck. Then he started to walk towards it. The men inside the truck lifted a gun to the window and pointed it at kaolin. Seconds later he lay dead on the ground. The men opened the doors and lifted him in the back of the truck. But it turned out he wasn’t dead. Maybe a little weak but he could survive. When they noticed him alive they yelled at each other and one grabbed a heavy duty chain collar and leash. Kaolin acted fierce at first but then he slipped and layed on the trucks mat. They put the collar around his neck and tied the leash to the trucks trailer hookup. Kaolin lifted his head but then put it down again. The men went back in the truck but didn’t drive off because one of the men screeched and pointed towards the lion pride. Kisa (the white lion) had sat down about 4 feet from the truck. Her head was cocked and the sun sparkled on her white fur. Her eyes where sparkling blue. And her ears turned in every direction. The men suddenly realized that right there in front of them was the most valuable animal on the poaching market. They could kill her for her fur or sell her to a zoo or put her in a cage and keep her until she was worth even more money. The third choice was the one they settled on. Quietly they opened the doors and walked towards her slowly and calmly. She thought they wanted to play and ran happily to them. Smiling they grabbed her and through her a box, nailing the top on. Kalama growled and lowered her body, prowling towards them. Even though they had guns and could easily kill her something stopped them. And that something was another truck coming towards them. This time it was the park ranger. With panicked looks they jumped in the truck and raced off. Kalama chased after them. Her heart was pounding and her paws thudded on the ground. But she couldn’t chase them forever. She tripped and lay there on the ground looking towards the truck that was speeding away with her cub. At least that was what Kalama thought. She stood up and started walking towards the pride. When she reached the pride they were all chuffing and prancing around franticly. She sprawled out on the ground and closed her eyes. Depression hit her like a bomb. Many animals got depressed when they lost their friends and baby’s. And this time it was Kalama who got depressed. The park ranger came to her but she opened her eyes and lunged at him. Kisa was gone and probably for good. Miles and miles away was a box bouncing up and down with a very cramped kisa inside. She was scared as well and just wanted to be home. Kaolin was angry. He had seen kisa be thrown into the box like she was a trash bag and not a living animal. He stood up as far as the leash would let him. Then he crept slowly towards the box kisa was in. Carefully he put his paws up on the box and with one final hesitation he swiped the box right off the truck. Kaolin did this because unlike most lions he knew how kisa felt. Once he had been a poor helpless cub whose father had been shot and he had been thrown in a box as well. His father had used his last bit of strength to knock the box of the truck. The box had hit the groun

Questions on Africa... any help at all would be GREATLY appreciated...!!!? 1.) Some of the African images we see (in the U.S.) are of wild animals, safaris, tribal people living in a peaceful life. In contrast, there's poverty, genocide, refugees, AIDS, and unrest. What is the true Africa? What image do African writers want the world to know/see? 2.) Africa is a continent that has been divided by race, ethnicity, geographical elements, politics, and religion. Explain where these divisions occur and denote how those divisions have come to influence Africa. 3.) The African people have been stereotyped as religious, fatalists, superstitious, and traditional. Explain African life, the function/effect of the spirits/spirit world, and how traditions and superstitions are continuously conflicting with the struggle for Africans to evolve and change. Remember to reference past Africa with current Africa
a dream which was really serene? i had a dream i was in a mud ditch with a baby elephant giving it a bath and it was squirting water at me from its trunk and i was giggling and telling it to stop. I felt so happy. It felt i was one of them safari people in an African country helping safari/zoo people with the elephants. Whats all that about? I've always wanted to travel but not been able to due to health problems and ive always wanted to connect with animals but not been able to due to OCD. what do you think? Do you think I could be cleansed off my OCD illness soon?

Vacation at Disney help? My husband and I are thinking that a trip to Disney would be alot of fun next year. However, I need suggestions about something... We need to choose the hotel. Its between the Animal Kingdom Lodge, and the Wilderness Lodge. I personally love the idea of the Animal Kingdom Lodge. Its incredible with all the animals about. But its slightly more expensive. I love the African theme. Its like being on a safari. I'm not sure about the African food but I'm willing to give it a try. My husband likes the idea of the Wilderness resort. The thing is, I've seen reviews that say this is the best resort of the moderates. It has boat transportation as well as bus, where the Animal Kingdom Lodge has only bus. The restaurants are also supposed to be very good with good American food (which we all like). So whats the problem, you ask? The problem is that I'm from Canada and I've seen pretty much everything the resort has to offer. Its just a lodge. That means its kind of got a western Canadian theme with log designs, Mountyesque clothing designs, stone fireplaces, etc. I'd kind of like something different. Its a running theme in western Canada (where I'm from). My home city has a casino that even has a stuffed fake buffalos at the front door. Mind you, I miss Canada (I live in the US now with hubby), but still... I grew up with all that stuff. I'm not sure I want to completely immerse myself in it for the whole time. I'd like to try something different. But hubby loves it. He's just loved his trips to Canada (which I'm very glad he does). I honestly don't know what to do. On the one hand, the Wilderness resort has more to offer than the Animal Kingdom Lodge, on the other hand, I've done all that before, right down to the stuffed bears. What do you think? Should I just let go of the "theme" and focus on the other stuff? I mean, we won't be spending all that much time in the hotel anyway, it is Disney after all. Suggestions please.

Translate from English to german please ? On the third day i went shopping with my unle to Bloemfonteina very longway to go shopping but it was worth it.I brought African plates and thimbles for my Aunt and mother i also bought a few keyring so that i could hand out to my friends. That night we went back to Roodepoort my aunties home town where we had food in a local afrikaaner restaurant where i had borewurs, Milies, Biltong and some salad's it was all grilled. This is known as a "Braai" in south africa . Then for the next 4 days we went on Safari to the Pilansberg where we saw many different wild animals. I saw lions, Monkeys, rhino's,and many more animals to many to write down. Then on the second weekend we went down to the south to Kwazulu-Natal where i visited many anglo-zulu and anglo-boere war battlefields it was rather sad knowing how many people had lost their lives to fight for freedom.
